The Artivist Network organized two collaborative gatherings in Budapest, 2020 and 2021.  Central Eastern European (CEE) Artivism Gatherings in Budapest have been designed with an aspect of careful curation of participants based on the medium or artistic practice of each/participant in order to allow both the co-creation of specific art action, but also to build a community of creative practitioners from different movements including:
 

• Contemporary Dance/Movement / Theatre 

• Public intervention/ Street Art 

• Graphic Design

• Photography / Documentary and Photography for direct action 

• Projection / Digital Art/ Video Mapping / Interactive Visual Design 

• Facilitation skills/Action Design / Content Development
   

Through this training series, three artivists from the CEE region participated in the COP26 summit as part of our annual“Artivists-in-Residence '' program.

As we look ahead towards 2022, CEE Artivism Gatherings will continue with both local and regional gatherings in the region where we can focus on the training of the artists who have been involved already with these movements as activists but would like to understand creative activism on a higher level. We are aiming for them to become lead designers of larger mobilizations, creative actions, and artistic interventions with the skills to know which kind of medium is needed for supporting certain kinds of actions.
